The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support for pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs (which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties).
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 or small group support to ensure pupils can access the curriculum.
Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Managing challenging behaviour with patience, empathy, and positive reinforcement.
Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external specialists.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience working with SEN children is essential (within a school, care, or youth work setting).
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to learning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to adapt quickly to the varying needs of the pupils.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
