Pay Rate: £12-14 per hour or £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 per annum
Job Type: Permanent 40 hours per week, Term time only
As a Teaching Assistant at this special school in Dorset, your primary role will be to support both students and teachers in delivering a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum. You'll work closely with students, helping them to achieve their academic targets and develop essential life skills. Whether it's providing 1:1 support, working with small groups, or ensuring the safety and well-being of students, you will have a direct impact on their progress and success.
Key Responsibilities:
... - Support and Safeguard Students: Ensure the safety, well-being, and emotional development of all students, adhering to safeguarding protocols and policies.
- Assist in Learning: Support the delivery of lessons, working closely with individual students or small groups to ensure they understand and succeed in their learning.
- Behaviour Management: Implement and support positive behaviour strategies to encourage students' social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside teachers to plan and prepare learning activities, and contribute to the evaluation of students' progress.
- Communication: Build effective relationships with students, parents, and other staff members to ensure smooth communication and positive outcomes.
- Holistic Support: Work in collaboration with other professionals, including residential staff and therapists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and development.

Requirements:
- Qualifications: Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths is required.
- Experience: Prior experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding principles and experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, good numeracy and literacy skills, and competent ICT skills.
- Other: Eligibility to work in the UK, satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, and a full, valid driving licence (depending on location) may be required.
