Are you a passionate and experienced SENDCo looking for an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join a brand new SEND Secondary School opening in September 2025 in the heart of Horsham, West Sussex.
This exciting new provision will cater for neurodivergent young people aged 11-16, many of whom will be transitioning from mainstream education. The school is committed to providing an adapted National Curriculum delivered in small classes, with a strong focus on meeting sensory needs and supporting emotional wellbeing. Our aim is to create an accepting, safe, and welcoming environment where young people can truly thrive.
The Role:
This is a full-time SENDCo role within a specialist setting where you will be integral to shaping a unique educational provision from its inception. You will work within a transdisciplinary model, collaborating closely with an onsite therapy team led by a clinical psychologist. Your key responsibilities will include leading on educational interventions, conducting specialist assessments, and ensuring that each student's EHCP is appropriate, resourced, evaluated, and effectively reported upon.
As a vital member of the senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in engaging students and their families. You will also share responsibility for the comprehensive training and support of all staff members, ensuring they are equipped to meet the diverse needs of our students. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a bespoke curriculum and build a truly inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Please note that duties will vary, and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the school as required.
If you are an innovative and committed SENDCo ready to embrace a new challenge and help establish a centre of excellence for neurodivergent learners, we would love to hear from you.
