This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-focused Senior Financial Accountant to join an international specialist construction company. The role reports directly to the Finance Director and has a number of direct and dotted-line reports. You will be a key member of the management team with responsibility for the entire accounting function, working with the Finance Director and other senior managers.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Preparing quarterly management and annual statutory accounts.
- Handling accurate external and internal reporting, both at a local statutory level, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Processing intercompany transactions with multiple related parties within the group.
- Acting as the main point of contact for external auditors, foreign entity audits, and corporation tax.
- Reviewing the processing and recording of monthly payroll and reviewing payroll information prepared by outside providers for the group's foreign subsidiaries.
- Managing compliance for the company's entities in various jurisdictions (Ireland, UK, and Netherlands).
- Working closely with the commercial departments to process monthly invoices for multiple construction contracts and tracking work-in-progress values for quarterly accounts.
- Managing accounts receivable to ensure client companies pay within contractual terms.
- Acting as the main point of contact for multiple internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, insurance providers, employees, and compliance agencies.
- Supervising and mentoring a trainee accountant.
Requirements
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with over seven years of post-qualification experience in demanding roles.
- Public accounting training is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and general ledger maintenance.
