Senior Civil & Structural Engineer - Water Sector

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join our established team in Manchester. In this role, you will lead the delivery of civil and structural engineering outputs for major water infrastructure and treatment projects. Operating with high autonomy, you will oversee analysis, detailed calculations, and technical designs while working closely with on-site construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Output: Produce and review robust civil/structural analysis models, design calculations, sketches, and detailed reports for water sector projects.
- Quality & Governance: Provide technical guidance, ensuring all work complies with UK design standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
- Construction & Client Interface: Interface directly with site construction teams to deliver value-engineered solutions and present design capabilities confidently to clients.
- Commercial Drive: Deliver designs strictly to budget, managing scope changes effectively.
- Leadership: Act as a mentor, guiding and developing junior engineers within the team.
Key Requirements
- Qualifications: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) status.
- Sector Expertise: Proven track record delivering engineering design within the UK Water industry.
- Technical Mastery: In-depth experience in steelworks connection design or reinforced concrete (RC) detailing.
- Regulations: Strong knowledge of current UK design codes, Health & Safety (CDM), and environmental regulations.
- Communication: Outstanding technical writing skills and a collaborative team mindset.
