Key Details:
- Contract Duration: Starting ASAP and running until 04/04/2027
- Rate: up to £61 per hour / £549 per day (Umbrella)
- IR35 Status: Inside IR35
- Working Pattern: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday with an 8am start
- Location: Hybrid working model requiring 3 days a week on-site at Assington, Suffolk
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Managing costs relating to the project to minimise expenses and enhance value for money while maintaining quality standards
- Overseeing underground cable packages, specifically Trenching, Ducting, and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling)
- Taking charge of sub-contractor management and CVR management
- Preparing procurement programmes, activity schedules, and resource schedules
- Analysing rates, prices, variations, and compensation events, as well as preparing, submitting, and negotiating claims
- Reviewing complex contract programmes and assisting with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
- Managing and mentoring a small team of less experienced commercial staff to support their professional qualifications and development
About You:
- You must have 5+ years of experience with a strong construction background
- A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience is essential
- You must possess strong NEC knowledge and know how to administer an NEC contract
- Ideally, you will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or currently working towards this)
- Previous experience with Fast Draft is highly desirable
- You will possess excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, with the "edge" to make tough decisions and the "energy" to create momentum
