Havering Council is seeking a skilled and committed Senior Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This is a key role for experienced practitioners who are confident in managing complex cases and contributing to a high-performing, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
... Lead on complex cases involving children with disabilities and their families
Undertake statutory assessments, care planning, and reviews
Work collaboratively with health, education, and voluntary partners
Support and mentor less experienced colleagues
Ensure the child's voice is central to all planning and intervention
Requirements:
Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience beyond ASYE
Strong background in children's social care, preferably in disabilities or safeguarding
Confident in risk management, strengths-based practice, and professional decision-making
Experience in supporting or mentoring other practitioners is desirable
