About the Project:
You will be working on a major highways upgrade, involving substantial earthworks, complex structures, and significant utility diversions. This is a challenging and rewarding project offering exposure to a wide range of engineering activities.
About the Role:
As a Freelance Site Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Setting out works accurately and efficiently.
- Ensuring works are constructed according to drawings and specifications.
- Quality control and assurance, including undertaking inspections and raising NCRs as required.
- Liaising with the site team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate records, including daily diaries and progress reports.
- Assisting with the resolution of technical queries.
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects, ideally highways.
- Strong understanding of earthworks, structures, and utility diversions.
- Proficiency in setting out using surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, total stations).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant CSCS card.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
