The Role
As Site Manager, you will be the key operational leader on-site, fully responsible for the daily delivery, safety, quality, and coordination of the project from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Manage and direct all site personnel, subcontractors, and plant to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
Health & Safety Excellence: Implement, maintain, and rigorously enforce the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance, ensuring a zero-incident culture.
Programme Delivery: Drive the site programme to ensure all milestones are met, reporting progress and mitigating delays proactively.
Quality Control: Oversee all construction activities, ensuring work is executed to the specified quality standards, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
Resource Management: Manage site logistics, materials, plant allocation, and labour resources effectively within budget constraints.
Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary site contact, coordinating effectively with the Project Manager, engineers, client representatives, and inspectors.
What You'll Bring
Proven experience as a Site Manager successfully delivering heavy civil engineering projects (e.g., concrete structures, earthworks, deep drainage).
Essential experience within the UK Water Sector, specifically on Waste Water Treatment Works (WwTW) or related infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of site management best practices, construction methodologies, and relevant legislation.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of motivating teams.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and project programmes.
SMSTS certification is mandatory.
A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is desirable.
