Rate of Pay: £30.57 per hour
The Role
As a Social Worker in the Family Help Service, you'll manage a varied caseload of children and families where needs have been identified. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Undertaking comprehensive early help and Child in Need (CIN) assessments to identify family strengths and needs.
Developing, implementing, and regularly reviewing Child in Need Plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
Providing direct support to children and families, building relationships and empowering them to find their own solutions and achieve positive change.
Working collaboratively with a range of multi-agency partners, including schools, health visitors, GPs, and local community groups, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to support.
Promoting the voice of the child throughout all stages of assessment and planning, ensuring their wishes and feelings are central to the process.
Maintaining accurate, analytical, and timely electronic records in line with Birmingham Children's Trust's policies and procedures.
Identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns promptly where thresholds are met for child protection intervention.
About You
We are looking for a committed and skilled Social Worker with:
A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW) with current registration with Social Work England.
A full UK driving license and access to a car for business use (or ability to travel efficiently around the city).
