Responsibilities:
- Providing a range of social work services in line with relevant Scottish legislation and guidance, such as the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968, the Children (Scotland) Act 1995, and the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.
- Implementing Council and service procedures to assess risk and need for children and families.
- Applying and ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, particularly in cases of child protection.
- Undertaking relationship-based practice to engage with families, identify their strengths, needs, risks, and resilience factors.
- Working collaboratively in partnership with other agencies (multi-agency collaboration) in line with GIRFEC principles. This includes Police Scotland, NHS Forth Valley, Children's Hearings Scotland, and various Third Sector organisations.
- Contributing to the development of and working within the structure of a Child's Plan.
- Providing support and guidance to children and young people experiencing transitions (e.g., return home, moving to independence).
- Fulfilling the local authority's responsibilities as a corporate parent for children who are looked after (e.g., in foster care, residential care, or at home with social work support), ensuring they are loved, safe, and can reach their full potential.
- Maintaining accurate records and handling/processing information securely.
- Participating in a duty rota and attending and contributing to various meeting forums.
Requirements:
- Social Work Degree
- SSSC registration
- PVG
