The Roles at a Glance
The Council is currently recruiting for four distinct areas, each vital to the safety and permanence of children in the region:
Accelerated Permanence (Court Team): A unique, non-case holding role for legal experts who wish to influence long-term outcomes through high-level PLO knowledge and quality assurance.
Child Protection (CP): A frontline role focused on conducting investigations and managing complex caseloads to safeguard children at immediate risk.
Children with Disabilities (CWD): A specialist position providing holistic support and tailored care plans to promote independence for young people with diverse needs.
Children Looked After (CLA): A relationship-based role overseeing children under care orders, ensuring their voices are heard throughout the duration of their care journey.
Duties & Responsibilities
While specific tasks vary by team, the successful practitioners will be expected to:
Manage Caseloads: Maintain statutory visits and reviews (for CP, CWD, and CLA) or drive permanence planning through expert legal documentation (for Court Team).
Advocate & Represent: Act as a champion for children's rights in statutory meetings and provide expert testimony during court proceedings.
Collaborate Regionally: Work seamlessly with schools, health services, and the police to ensure a multi-agency, holistic approach to child welfare.
Drive Quality: Contribute to service improvements by embedding learning from audits and participating in Signs of Safety group sessions.
Professional Engagement: Commit to four-weekly reflective supervision and "MyTime" career development to ensure continuous professional growth.
The Knowsley Offer
Financial: Salary ranging from £42,839 to £44,075 for a 36-hour contract.
Leave: 28 days annual leave (rising with service) plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase 10 additional days.
