Position: Site Manager (Fit Out)
Location: Dover, Kent
Contract type: Freelance
Start date: September 2020
Duration: 3 months
Pay rate: up to £220 per day

The company

A well established regional contractor with a wealth of experience across multiple sectors including residential, commercial and education.

The project

Fast track 12 week office fit out project worth circa £500k. Our client is looking for a number 1 Site Manager who can run this project from site setup stage through to completion.

The role

Reporting into a visiting Contracts Manager you will be responsible for:

Management of the master build programme
Monitoring subcontractor progress against programme
Health & Safety
Setting up the site documentation systems
Writing reports, maintaining diaries and records
Chairing site meetings which will include pre-start with client & contractors, weekly coordination meetings and monthly contract reviews
Coordination of site activities including subcontractors, labour and logistics
Carrying out site inspections
Working closely with the commercial team, external design teams, Engineers and Consultants
Providing regular progress updates and holding regular project reviews with the visiting Contracts Manager

Qualifications:

SMSTS
CSCS Card (Black Card would be preferable)
First Aid

Experience:

Proven track record of successfully delivering fast track fit out schemes.
Working knowledge of building regulations and experience of dealing with clients on a regular basis.
4-5 years experience of working in a similar role.

Skill set:

An eye for detail.
Strong man-management and motivational skills.
Be able to write detailed reports.
Excellent organisation.
Client facing and approachable.
