Are you a dedicated educator with a heart for inclusion? A vibrant, inclusive school in the heart of East London is looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team. This isn't just a "sit at the back of the class" role-you'll be the primary support for students with complex physical and medical needs, ensuring they have equal access to their education.
The Role
You will be working 1:1 and in small groups with students who require significant physical support. Your day-to-day will involve:
Academic Support: Adapting lesson materials to meet the sensory and cognitive needs of your students.
Personal Care: Confidently managing toileting and changing requirements with dignity and respect.
Physical Assistance: Utilising hoists and other mobility equipment to assist with transfers and positioning throughout the school day.
Collaboration: Working closely with the Class Teacher, Occupational Therapists, and Physios to implement individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals.
What You Bring
Proven Experience: You must have a background in SEN, specifically supporting children with Physical Disabilities (PD) or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
Certified Training: Current training in Manual Handling/Hoisting is essential for this role.
Reliability: As this is a long-term, full-time position starting immediately, we need someone who can provide the consistency needed for this role
Why Join This School?
Supportive Leadership: A school that values its support staff as much as its teachers.
Modern Facilities: You'll have access to specialised sensory rooms and up-to-date adaptive equipment.
Community: A diverse, multi-cultural environment that reflects the spirit of East London.

The school and Randstad Education are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- DBS: As this post involves working with children, an enhanced DBS check is mandatory before starting the role
- Training: You will be expected to follow all child protection procedures and undertake annual mandatory and statutory training
