The Role
We are looking for experienced Steel Fixers to join several major civil engineering projects across the West Midlands. You will be working on high-spec infrastructure, including reinforced concrete (RC) frames, bridge abutments, and retaining walls.
This isn't just about tying wire; we need professionals who understand the structural integrity required for large-scale civils. If you're a graft-oriented individual with a sharp eye for detail, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Reading & Interpreting: Accurately following reinforcement drawings and bending schedules.
Setting Out: Positioning and securing steel bars and mesh according to engineering specifications.
Fixing: Utilizing tying wire or secondary welding to secure structures.
Quality Control: Ensuring all work meets strict safety and structural standards prior to concrete pours.
Collaboration: Working closely with the shuttering carpentry and concrete gangs to hit project milestones.
Requirements
CSCS Card: Valid Blue (Skilled Worker) card is essential.
Experience: Proven track record in civil engineering or heavy industrial environments.
Tools: Must have your own full PPE and standard fixing tools (Nips, belt, etc.).
Reliability: Strong work ethic and punctuality are non-negotiable.
Safety First: A comprehensive understanding of site health and safety protocols.
