Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Durham/Newcastle Based - Hybrid / Home-based (with travel as required)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week + Out-of-hours rota
The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join a child-centered fostering agency committed to excellence and stability.
In this role, you won't just be managing a caseload; you will be the bridge between foster carers and the children they support. You will provide robust supervision, ensure the "voice of the child" is at the heart of every decision, and help maintain the high standards that allow our placements to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Provide monthly supervision to a dedicated group of foster carers, ensuring they feel empowered and supported
Act as a champion for child safety, responding promptly to concerns and working closely with the Registered Manager and multi-agency partners
Undertake Form F assessments and produce high-quality analytical reports for Fostering Panels
Ensure you see children in placement at least bi-monthly, ensuring their needs are met and their stability is prioritised
Maintain accurate records on the CHARMS system and ensure all regulatory requirements (National Minimum Standards) are met
What We're Looking For

Essential Criteria:
A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
Post-qualifying experience within children's social care and a rock-solid understanding of safeguarding.
Excellent analytical writing skills for assessments and reviews.
High level of IT competence (Microsoft 365) and strong organisational skills.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience within an Independent Fostering Agency (IFA).
Experience presenting to Fostering Panels.
A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
