Are you a qualified Secondary English teacher with a passion for educational technology, pedagogy, and safeguarding?
We are looking for experienced English educators to join a vital national project. You will play a key role in building the benchmarks that ensure AI tutoring tools are safe, accurate, and pedagogically sound for English students across the UK.
About the Role
This is a highly flexible, fully remote role running until 30th September 2026, requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week.
Using your subject expertise, you will evaluate AI systems, create English teaching scenarios, and set the standards by which AI literacy and analytical tools are measured. Your day-to-day will involve designing realistic student-teacher dialogues (covering text analysis, SPaG, and creative writing), developing benchmarking criteria, scoring AI responses, and building rubrics to evaluate the nuance and accuracy of AI-generated content.
- Pay Rate: £20 - £30 per hour
- Location: Fully Remote (UK)
- Hours: 5-10 hours per week (Flexible)
Key Requirements
Mandatory:
- Secondary Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with verified experience teaching English in English schools (references required).
- Specific experience teaching Year 9 English (Language and/or Literature).
- Comfortable using web-based platforms and adapting to new software.
- Your own laptop and a reliable internet connection.
Highly Valued (But Not Required):
- Safeguarding Expertise: Designated Safeguarding experience (e.g., current/former DSL or Deputy DSL, or Level 3+ safeguarding training with practical child protection responsibilities).
- SEND Experience: SENCO experience, working in a specialist school, or holding a recognised Level 3+ SEND qualification.
Desirable (But Not Required):
- 2+ years of experience delivering approved English teacher training (ITT, NPQs, ECF, etc.).
- 1+ years of 1:1 English tutoring experience with Year 9 students.
