Project Overview
We are looking for a Systems Integration Commissioning Engineer to deliver on-site and off-site SCADA, Telemetry (Regional SCADA), and communications packages across the Southern Water Framework in West Sussex.
This is a key, technically demanding role spanning the full project lifecycle. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, MEICA Lead, and the client's Operational Technology team, you will take ownership of everything from initial design input and PLC replacements through to wet commissioning and final project takeover.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Telemetry: Lead the commissioning of site SCADA, regional telemetry, and communications systems, including coordinating PLC replacement packages.
Strategy & Planning: Develop the outline commissioning strategy during design phases and evolve it into detailed Project Commissioning Plans and documentation.
Site Coordination: Manage the sequence of MEICA installation activities to ensure efficient commissioning. Coordinate with supply chain and subcontractor resources to hit the programme.
Testing & Handovers: Lead dry testing, wet commissioning, and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Clear snags and defects collaboratively before takeover.
Client Interface: Work in conjunction with the client's Operational Technology team to ensure seamless integration with existing operational assets.
Compliance & Records: Ensure all works meet client specifications, asset standards, and WIMES. Maintain up-to-date testing records, configuration data, and O&M documentation.
Requirements
Water Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience within the water sector, with a deep understanding of water treatment processes and mechanical/electrical equipment.
Systems Expertise: Proven track record in the site management and delivery of SCADA, Telemetry, and PLC replacements through to successful project takeover.
Safety First: Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental approaches, including the strict application of electrical and mechanical safety rules.
Documentation Skills: Ability to write clear, detailed commissioning procedures and handle O&M data handover. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Location: West Sussex (Framework sites).
Payment Options: LTD company contractors or permanent candidates welcome.
Framework: Southern Water.
Timeline: 2 years of secured contract work
