Letchworth Garden City
Are you an inspiring primary school practitioner ready to make an immediate, positive impression on pupils' academic journeys after the half-term break?
Do you take pride in orchestrating an orderly, high-expectation classroom that champions differentiated tasks and active student participation?
Would you like to step into a steady, long-term class teacher post post-half term, or explore versatile daily supply opportunities across Letchworth Garden City?
Randstad has partnered with a forward-looking Primary School in Letchworth Garden City to appoint an enthusiastic Primary Teacher (QTS mandatory) on an ongoing, full-time basis commencing directly after the half-term holidays. Simultaneously, we are expanding our local register of reliable supply practitioners seeking flexible day-to-day teaching assignments across KS1 and KS2. Whether your priority is the stability of running your own assigned form group or the freedom of flexible weekly supply, this school environment offers an inclusive, well-led community devoted to pupil success and personal growth.
Core Classroom Responsibilities
- Targeted Curriculum Instruction: Formulate and lead engaging, National Curriculum-focused learning experiences that challenge high achievers while supporting pupils needing extra guidance (or skillfully deliver pre-set work during daily supply assignments).
- Numeracy & Phonics Rigour: Utilise concrete maths models, guided reading schemes, and systematic phonics strategies to build rock-solid foundational skills in literacy and numeracy.
- Support Staff Coordination: Brief, delegate, and work in tandem with assigned classroom Teaching Assistants to foster a supportive, productive group dynamic.
- Pupil Milestone Monitoring: Track pupil progression through formative evaluations, noting gaps in understanding and recognizing personal milestones.
- Inclusive Education Support: Partner with the school SENCO and pastoral leaders to ensure adjustments are implemented effectively for SEND and bilingual (EAL) pupils.
- Caregiver Communication & Day Handovers: Maintain approachable, constructive communication with families during ongoing assignments, or produce comprehensive end-of-day feedback reports for permanent teaching staff following supply cover.

- Essential Teaching Credentials: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory. We welcome applications from seasoned classroom teachers as well as promising Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with prior UK classroom experience.
- Subject & Pedagogical Knowledge: Clear understanding of primary curriculum phases, positive reinforcement frameworks, and classroom differentiation.
- Calm & Flexible Approach: A supportive, unflappable demeanour capable of maintaining high motivation whether leading a continuous class or adjusting to unfamiliar year groups on supply.
