We are recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support local primary, secondary, and SEN schools across Barnstaple and the surrounding areas. Responsibilities- Provide general support across the classroom during standard school hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom setup, managing activities, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
- Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils needing additional academic support in core subjects.
- Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, or mobility needs where required.
- Ensure student safety and strictly follow school safeguarding procedures.
- Experience working with children or young people (schools, nurseries, sports coaching, care, or youth work).
- A friendly, confident, and adaptable nature-ready to step into new classrooms and engage with pupils quickly.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, supportive approach.
- An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is a plus, but hands-on experience is equally valued.
- Fair Pay: Guaranteed £92.56 - £95.00 per day (paid weekly via PAYE).
- Great Work-Life Balance: Standard 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM working day (term-time only) with no evening or weekend work.
- Total Diary Control: Pick and choose the days you want to work each week.
- Local Placements: Work in schools around Barnstaple and local areas to keep travel short.
- Dedicated Consultant: Ongoing support to help manage your schedule and match you with great local schools.
