Humans First, Professionals Second.
Are you passionate about neurodiversity, inclusion, and creating spaces where every child can thrive?
We are seeking an empathetic, resilient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or 3) to join our specialist support team. In this role, you will become a key anchor for a small, close-knit class of just 8 to 10 pupils, all of whom have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We operate on a philosophy of "humans first, professionals second." If you have a great sense of humour, a bounce-back resilience, and the unique ability to start every single day with a completely fresh slate, you will find a deeply rewarding professional home with us.
Your Impact: Enabling the Self
As a vital part of a holistic educational team, you won't just be assisting; you will be collaborating alongside specialist class teachers and a wide therapeutic team to deliver impactful, inclusive care. Your focus will bridge academic progress with essential social, emotional, and communication development.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Pupil Support: Build trusting, supportive relationships with individual pupils or small groups. Model positive social interactions and assist with both emotional and physical care needs.
EHCP Implementation: Work closely with the class teacher to ensure that every child's specific legal EHCP provisions and targets are meticulously met.
Classroom Collaboration: Help prepare resources, adapt lessons to suit diverse learning styles, and maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized learning environment.
Targeted Learning: Deliver creative learning activities for small groups who benefit from a different approach. (Level 3 candidates will also take the lead on arranging and delivering specialized learning interventions).
Team Synergy: Maintain precise records of pupil progress, contribute to performance reports, and act as a collaborative peer or mentor to fellow TAs (dependent on experience level).
What We Are Looking For
We want someone who sees the potential in every breakthrough, no matter how small, and celebrates it.
Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), specifically Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), is highly desirable.
Attributes: High emotional intelligence, patience, strong behavioral management skills, and a proactive attitude toward learning new assistive technologies.
Skills: Strong communication skills to foster meaningful partnerships with families, encouraging their active participation in school life.
Qualifications: A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent experience). Willingness to undergo First Aid training and administer medication safely is essential.
Why Join Us?
True Community: Work within a positive, collaborative climate that actively celebrates success and shares knowledge.
Manageable Class Sizes: With only 8-10 pupils per class, you can genuinely see the daily impact of your dedication.
Professional Growth: Access to robust, ongoing CPD and training tailored to specialist provision.
