Primary Supply Teaching Assistant
Salary: £90.00 - £105.00 per day (Weekly Pay)

The Role & ImpactAs a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and specialists to deliver meaningful educational outcomes. You won't just supervise tasks; you will build confidence, foster independence, and create a safe space for students to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Tailored 1:1 Support: Provide personalised educational and emotional guidance for individual students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Lead Small Group Interventions: Guide targeted small groups in core subjects, ensuring every child receives the helping hand they need to progress.
- Foster Inclusion: Create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported.
- Adapt Learning Materials: Adjust daily activities and learning resources to match specific learning styles and individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals.
- Monitor & Track Progress: Observe student engagement and progress, providing insightful feedback to class teachers and SEN Coordinators (SENCO).
- Manage Classroom Behaviour: Implement proactive behaviour management strategies tailored to individual SEN requirements to encourage positive learning.
- Promote Independence: Help students develop crucial social, communication, and life skills to build confidence inside and outside the classroom.
Must-Haves (Essential)
- Proven experience working with children in a primary school, nursery, or educational setting.
- Clear understanding of supporting children with additional learning needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, MLD, or SLCN).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an approachable, empathetic nature.
- Excellent adaptability, patience, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Nice-to-Haves (Desirable)
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Early Years, or Specialist Support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Specific SEN training (e.g., Makaton, PECS, Team-Teach, or Trauma-Informed practice).
- Prior experience delivering targeted 1:1 or small-group interventions.
