The Role: Specialist Support Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant
The Setting: Specialist SEN School
Do you have the energy, patience, and resilience to mentor young people who see the world differently? If you're coming from a background in coaching, healthcare, the emergency services, or youth work, you already have the "DNA" we're looking for.
At our Specialist Trust in Cranleigh, we don't sit behind desks all day. We use our incredible 23-acre site to help young people with complex autism and communication needs build real-world life skills through movement, outdoor learning, and hands-on engagement.
Why Your Skills Fit Here:
Action-Based Learning: Use your background in coaching or physical activity to lead outdoor sessions and community-based learning.
Resilience is Key: You're used to high-pressure environments. Your calm "presence" is exactly what a student needs during a challenging moment.
Therapeutic Teamwork: You won't be alone. You'll work as part of a "squad" alongside Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists-learning the science behind the behaviour.
Full Training Provided: We don't expect you to know "Makaton" or "PECS" on Day 1. We'll put you through a professional "bootcamp" to give you the specialist tools you need.
Who We Are Looking For:
The "Steady Hand": Someone who stays calm when things get loud or unpredictable.
The Mentor: Someone who understands that building a bond is the first step to a breakthrough.
The Team Player: Someone who wants to be part of a high-performing, supportive culture where everyone has each other's back.
Trade the "Routine" for "Results"
This isn't just a job; it's a chance to use your life experience to give a young person a future. We offer a competitive package, elite-level training, and a workspace that actually has room to breathe.
Ready for a new challenge? Don't worry if your CV isn't "school-focused"-we hire for character and train for skill. Have a confidential chat with Paul at Randstad to see if your background is a match for our Trust.
