What Does the Role Involve?
You will be supporting the Class Teacher in the day-to-day running of the class. This is a hands-on role with responsibility across several key areas:
Care and Support: You will establish a positive relationship with pupils , promote their independence , and attend to their personal care needs when required, including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and eating. You will carefully monitor the health and wellbeing of the pupils.
Learning Facilitation: You'll implement and reinforce learning concepts , help arrange resources for lessons , and support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.
Team Collaboration: You will communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders and work cooperatively with parents/carers and professionals , following a multi-disciplinary approach.
Safety and Standards: You will take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils , maintain high expectations of behaviour , and ensure all necessary documentation is completed correctly.

While formal qualifications are not specified, we are seeking candidates with strong foundational skills and the right attitude:
Skills: Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential , along with competent ICT skills. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Mindset: A strong commitment to the role and the desire to put the child first are paramount. You must be positive and creative in meeting pupils' needs.
Experience (Desirable): Experience working within education is advantageous. Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN (Special Educational Needs) is helpful , as is experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour.
Please note: The role may require what can be physically challenging work at times. All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and will require a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with barred list checks.
