Children's Social Work Team Manager - Area Team
We are currently recruiting for experienced Interim Children's Social Work Team Managers to lead busy and dynamic Children in Need Team in Leeds.
This is an excellent leadership opportunity for accomplished practitioners with proven team management experience and the ability to oversee high-quality social work practice from referral through to permanence.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee cases from referral through to permanence and adoption
- Provide leadership across assessment, CIN, Strategy discussions, S47, CP, PLO and Care Proceedings
- Ensure practice is delivered in line with Leeds' restorative and family-led model
- Manage and positively influence team culture and performance
- Provide outcome-focused supervision and support decision making
- Oversee safeguarding risk management and statutory compliance
- Support complex case direction and safety planning
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
- Qualified Social Worker (Diploma / Degree in Social Work)
- Social Work England registration
- Proven experience in a Team Manager / Leadership role within Children's Services
- Demonstrable ability to manage cases across the full statutory pathway
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes
- Experience managing performance, supervision, and staff development
- Confident decision-maker with strong leadership skills
