About the Role:
We are currently recruiting an experienced telehandler driver to join an ongoing residential development in Middlesbrough.
This is a long-term, ongoing position with a major housebuilder, offering consistent hours for a dependable operator. You will be managing site logistics, unloading deliveries, and ensuring materials are distributed efficiently across live plots to keep sub-contractors and site trades moving without delay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operating a telescopic handler across a busy, fast-paced new build housing site.
- Unloading delivery vehicles and neatly storing and distributing materials (bricks, blocks, timber, roof trusses, joinery packs).
- Supporting sub-contractors, trades, and site management with scheduled lifts and material movements.
- Conducting daily plant inspections, recording daily maintenance checks, and keeping the machine clean and operating safely.
- Adhering to strict site health and safety guidelines, particularly maintaining pedestrian segregation and safe loading procedures.
- Stepping off the machine during quieter periods to assist with general site housekeeping, ensuring compound and traffic areas remain clean and organised.
The Requirements:
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Card with Telescopic Handler category (Essential).
- Proven experience operating a telehandler on a new build housing development.
- Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).
- Full UK driving licence.
- High standard of health and safety awareness on live residential sites.
- Strong communication skills, punctuality, and a reliable work ethic.
- Based in or within easy commuting distance of Middlesbrough.
