Are you an encouraging, adaptable educator looking to make a profound impact on a upper primary pupil's learning journey?
On behalf of a highly supportive primary school in Liverpool, Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 2. This rewarding role involves providing tailored academic and personal support to a KS2 pupil, helping them stay engaged with the curriculum, build independence, and navigate the school day with confidence.
The Role: Impact & Responsibilities
As a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work side-by-side with a KS2 pupil to help them bridge learning gaps, manage classroom expectations, and achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Targeted Academic Support: Break down KS2 curriculum tasks into manageable, structured steps-helping the pupil access literacy, numeracy, and topic work at their own pace.
- Building Focus & Independence: Use positive reinforcement and practical learning strategies to keep the pupil motivated, on task, and developing self-directed study habits.
- Promoting Social & Emotional Growth: Act as a reliable mentor in the classroom and playground, supporting social interactions, peer relationships, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborative Progress: Work hand-in-hand with the Class Teacher, SENCo, and parents to monitor progress, adapt learning materials, and celebrate key milestones.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an approachable, proactive individual who understands the unique developmental transition children experience throughout Key Stage 2.
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant in KS2 or supporting primary-aged children is preferred (transferable experience in tutoring, youth coaching, or mentoring is welcomed).
- Patient & Engaging: A positive, resilient demeanor with the ability to keep learning accessible, structured, and relevant to the pupil's interests.
- Proactive Approach: Able to spot when a pupil is feeling overwhelmed or losing focus, offering timely guidance or brief movement breaks to help them reset.
- Reliable & Dependable: A consistent presence in the classroom who understands that strong mentor relationships are built on trust and routine.
