As an Advanced Practitioner, your role will be split between managing a high-quality, complex workload and providing vital practice leadership within your locality team:
Practice Leadership & Mentoring: Act as a practice champion by coaching, supporting, and supervising designated team staff or student social workers, actively guiding their professional development.
Complex Case Management: Hold a highly manageable, varied caseload of families supported through Child in Need planning, delivering exemplary relationship-focused intervention.
Duty & Frontline Assessment: Participate in the team duty rota, leading on Section 47 child protection enquiries and completing comprehensive, analytical Child and Family assessments.

Advanced Practice Expertise: Significant post-qualifying experience within statutory Child Protection, Duty & Assessment, or Child in Need services.
Supervisory Experience: Proven experience or the clear capability to mentor, coach, or formally supervise less experienced staff, newly qualified social workers (ASYEs), or students.
Analytical Skills: Exceptional assessment, decision-making, and report-writing skills, with a deep understanding of thresholds and risk management.
What Trafford Council Offers You
Attractive Remuneration: A highly competitive hourly rate of £37.00 per hour.
A Specialised Practice Model: The opportunity to work within a service that actively champions the value of Child in Need work, providing clear frameworks and manageable caseloads.
Career Evolution: A perfect stepping-stone for a Senior Social Worker looking to gain formal coaching, supervision, and management experience without losing touch with frontline practice.
