Job Title: Locality Social Worker
Location: Doncaster (Hybrid / Community-based)
Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour (Umbrella / Agency)
Contract Type: Temporary / Locum (Full-Time, 37 hours per week)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Locality Social Worker to join a dynamic team in Doncaster. Operating within a locality-based model, you will provide high-quality statutory social work services to vulnerable individuals, children, and families within the local community. You will manage a varied case load, carrying out assessments, court work where applicable, and implementing safeguarding procedures to deliver positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessments & Planning: Conduct comprehensive statutory assessments (e.g., C&F assessments, Care Act assessments) identifying needs, risks, and strengths. Formulate robust support and protection plans in direct partnership with service users.
- Safeguarding: Manage safeguarding enquiries, execute risk management strategies, and ensure the safety of vulnerable individuals in accordance with local procedures.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Partner effectively with health services, schools, police, voluntary agencies, and local resources to coordinate multi-disciplinary support.
- Case Management & Record Keeping: Maintain clear, concise, and up-to-date case records and reports compliant with statutory requirements.
- Direct Work & Advocacy: Engage in direct, child/person-centered work to amplify service users' voices and protect their rights.
- Court Work (If applicable): Prepare high-quality statements or court reports and represent the local authority in court proceedings when required.
Requirements & Experience
- Qualification: Professional Social Work degree (BA, BSc, DipSW, or CQSW).
- Registration: Active registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in a statutory locality, child protection, or adult social care setting.
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).
- Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits across Doncaster.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of statutory frameworks (Children Act 1989/2004 or Care Act 2014 dependent on team focus).
- Excellent analytical risk-assessment and decision-making capabilities.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills for reports and multi-agency meetings.
- Strong organization skills to manage complex, competing priorities effectively.
