The Role:
As a vital part of our specialist Manchester-based team, you will provide day-to-day support (activities, appointments, family contact) to children in residential settings. You will be responsible for:
- Engaging and building trust with young people using creative methods.
- De-escalating heightened behaviours and maintaining a safe environment.
- Providing accurate daily records and incident reports to shape long-term care plans.
What You Will Bring:
- Experience: At least 6 months of paid UK care experience (ideally in a residential setting).
- Skills: Proven ability to use de-escalation techniques and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
- Mindset: A calm, resilient, and non-judgemental approach during crisis situations (e.g., aggression or self-harm).
- Requirements: PMVA training is highly desirable (or a willingness to train). You must have a DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
- Ideally, you will have a driver's licence and business insurance to support community activities around Manchester.
