The Role
As a vital part of our specialist Salford-based crisis team, you will provide day-to-day support to children and young people in residential settings.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Building Trust: Engaging with young people using creative, trauma-informed methods to support daily activities, appointments, and family contact.
- Crisis Management: De-escalating heightened behaviours and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
- Reporting: Providing accurate daily records and incident reports to help shape long-term care plans.
What You Will Bring
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months of paid UK care experience (ideally within a residential childcare setting).
- Skills: A proven ability to utilise de-escalation techniques and make sound, safe decisions in challenging situations.
- Mindset: A calm, resilient, and non-judgemental approach during crisis situations (e.g., aggression or self-harm).
- Compliance: A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for a new one). PMVA training is highly desirable, though training can be provided.
- Mobility: Ideally, a full UK driving licence with business insurance to support community activities around Salford and the wider Greater Manchester area.
