When a young person enters a crisis setting, their world has been turned upside down. They do not need a supervisor watching a clock; they require a resilient, compassionate professional to act as a steady anchor.
We are seeking experienced Support Workers and Seniors to join our specialist crisis response teams across Newport. This is about stepping into a high pressure environment, understanding the trauma behind the behaviour, and bringing safety, structure, and warmth back to a young person's day.
This opening is an ideal fit for applicants who have previously worked as a Youth Mentor, Support Worker, Therapeutic Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker, or Key Worker.
How you will make a difference
- Build Trust: Engage with vulnerable children and young people using creative, trauma informed care methods.
- Provide Safety: Utilise your de escalation skills to handle challenging behaviours, aggression, or self harm with complete composure.
- Be the Advocate: Produce highly accurate daily reports that directly shape long term therapeutic care plans.
What you will bring
- Track Record: At least 6 months of paid UK care experience, ideally inside a children's residential or crisis environment.
- Mindset: A calm, resilient, and non judgemental approach to managing volatile or complex behaviours.
- Licence: A full UK driving licence and vehicle access is highly preferred to support community integration across South Wales.
