Responsibilities
- Oversee Key Stage 3 and 4 classes during the short-term absence of their usual subject teachers.
- Present pre-set lesson materials with clarity, keeping students focused on their daily learning goals.
- Foster a structured and encouraging learning environment that promotes respect and active participation.
- Address classroom behaviour consistently and fairly, applying the school's established behaviour management policies.
- Provide constructive support to students navigating their set tasks, ensuring they remain on track.
- Gather all completed work at the conclusion of the lesson and ensure the space is left in good order.
- Compile clear, accurate feedback for the returning class teacher regarding work completion and overall student conduct.
- Move confidently between various departments across the school day, adjusting your supervisory style to different subjects.
Requirements
- 6 months UK classroom experience is required.
- A degree or a relevant educational qualification (highly advantageous, though practical youth-work experience is strongly valued).
- Current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Randstad).
- UK Right to Work (Share Code, Passport).
- Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational, coaching, youth work, or mentoring capacity.
- A confident, approachable, and authoritative classroom presence to effectively manage groups of secondary-aged students.
- Availability to commit to working 08:30am to 15:30pm.
