This is a full-time Cover Supervisor position commencing this September. Job Requirements
... - A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or significant experience working with groups of young people (aged 11-16).
- Previous experience in a supervisory role (e.g., teaching assistant, sports coach, youth worker, or camp leader).
- A current Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK

- Behaviour Management: Ability to implement school behaviour policies assertively and fairly.
- Adaptability: Skill in transitioning smoothly between different subjects and age groups throughout the day.
- Assertiveness: A confident, commanding presence capable of managing large groups of teenagers.
- Active Listening: The capacity to understand student queries and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Time Management: Keeping students on track to complete pre-set work within lesson boundaries.
- Communication: Clear, concise verbal delivery to deliver instructions and expectations to the class.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Supervision: Overseeing classrooms to ensure students complete the work left by the absent teacher.
- Register Management: Accurately recording student attendance at the start of every lesson using the school's database.
- Policy Enforcement: Maintaining the school's behaviour code, handing out rewards and sanctions consistently.
- Student Assistance: Answering student questions and guiding them through instructions to maximise productivity.
- Safety & Well-being: Ensuring a safe, orderly learning environment for all pupils under your care.
- Handover Reports: Writing concise feedback for returning teachers regarding student progress and behaviour.
- Resource Management: Collecting completed work, books, and equipment at the end of each session.
- Exam Invigilation: Assisting with the formal supervision of mock or external examinations when required.
- Pastoral Support: Acting as a supportive adult figure and reporting any safeguarding concerns immediately.
- Departmental Support: Assisting departments with administrative tasks or resource preparation during registration or free periods.
