About the Role:
Randstad Education is seeking an inventive and engaging Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join a vibrant, co-educational school in Southend-on-Sea. Covering Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils across both primary and lower secondary phases, this part-time role (3 days per week) offers an immediate start for a passionate educator.
You will teach in well-equipped specialist workshop facilities, delivering practical projects that span multi-materials, mechanisms, and design principles to inspire creativity and hands-on problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging DT lessons suited to pupils across KS2 (Years 5-6) and KS3 (Years 7-9).
- Introduce young learners to practical tools, workshop safety, design processes, and materials (wood, plastics, textiles/graphics where applicable).
- Maintain high standards of workshop safety, health and safety protocols, and correct machine management.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages practical creativity, confidence, and perseverance.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) or recognised teaching qualification (experienced Instructors/unqualified candidates with strong DT practical expertise may also be considered).
- Proven experience delivering Design & Technology across KS2 and/or KS3.
- Excellent classroom and workshop management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to process one immediately via Randstad).
- Full right to work in the UK.
