Key Requirements
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Curriculum Experience: Demonstrable experience teaching the UK National Curriculum across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is highly advantageous).

- Exemplary Communication: Strong vocal presence and the ability to articulate complex thematic concepts clearly to varied age groups.
Core Responsibilities
- Lesson Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver highly engaging, rigorous Drama lessons across all assigned key stages.
- Curriculum Implementation: Follow and enrich the department's spiral curriculum, ensuring students progressively build complexity in their work.
- Examination Preparation: Guide Key Stage 4 and 5 cohorts through the intricacies of devising drama, understanding texts, and practical assessments.
- Production Management: Oversee and coordinate the school's annual theatrical calendar, including casting, rehearsals, and live show nights.
- Student Tracking: Monitor, record, and report on the academic and practical progress of students, using data to inform interventions.
- Extracurricular Delivery: Lead a minimum of one weekly drama or musical theater club to widen pupil experiences beyond the standard classroom.
- Industry Engagement: Organise educational trips to live theatre productions (such as the National Theatre or local West Yorkshire venues).
- Parental Liaison: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and development areas.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in faculty meetings, internal CPD sessions, and school-wide training initiatives.
- Pastoral Support: Fulfil the standard duties of a Form Tutor, providing daily guidance, registration, and support to an assigned student group.
