About the Role
This is a full-time starting immediately for a dedicated specialist in Resistant Materials (RM) and Product Design. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, focusing on timber, metals, and polymers. This role requires a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design theory, ensuring students are equipped for both exams and industry. You will be stepping into a well-resourced department with a supportive technician team, allowing you to focus on pedagogical excellence and innovative project design.

Requirements
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong references covering the last two years of employment.

- Project Management: Overseeing multiple student NEAs simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Safety Conscious: An instinctive approach to Risk Assessments and Health & Safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging RM and Product Design lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities.
- Oversee the safe use of workshop machinery, including lathes, saws, and laser cutters.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Develop innovative schemes of work that incorporate 21st-century design trends.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and inspiring learning environment in the workshop.
- Prepare students for external examinations (GCSE and A-Level) through rigorous theory and NEA support.
- Collaborate with the department to organise extra-curricular design clubs or competitions.
- Implement school policies regarding behaviour, homework, and pastoral care.
- Liaise with parents and guardians regarding student performance and subject choices.
- Keep up-to-date with health and safety legislation (DATA) and subject-specific developments.
