Hours: Monday - Thursday (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM), Friday (8:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Pay Rate: Up to £19.48 per hour (Equivalent to a £37,900 salary)

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electronics & Instrumentation Technician to join our Test & Development Engineering team. Operating in a fast-paced, professional technical environment, you will provide expert technical and calibration support for our advanced research and development facility.
This role offers an exciting variety of responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively to maintain, upgrade, and commission multi-million-pound test facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Panel Building & Upgrades: Assemble and upgrade instrumentation panels to specified standards.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform comprehensive electronic diagnostics using advanced equipment and instrumentation.
Maintenance & Calibration: Execute Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and calibration routines for test cells, associated equipment, and interface harnesses.
Support & Maintenance: Maintain, enhance, and upgrade test rigs, and provide prompt, effective first-line breakdown support.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records, follow standard work instructions, and document project progress.
Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for a combination of the skills below. You do not need to possess every single one to be considered.
Essential:
Background: A technical apprenticeship (Level 3) with an electrical/electronic bias OR strong, hands-on industry experience without a formal apprenticeship.
Technical Skills: Proven experience in the build/manufacture of instrumentation panels, alongside calibration and fault-finding of precision instrumentation.
Schematics: Ability to read and interpret electronic design schematics, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings.
Safety: A strong commitment to health and safety standards and regulations.
Desirable (But Not Essential):
Multi-skilled in both Electrical and Electronics disciplines.
Prior experience working within an engine test cell environment.
Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques.
BS7671 IET 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.
HNC or equivalent in an electronic/electrical discipline.
An aerospace or military/ex-forces background (highly valued for its focus on precision and quality standards).
