The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Engineering Supervisor to take operational ownership of hard FM services across a premier, high-footfall campus estate in South London.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Governance & Statutory Compliance

• Technical Compliance Ownership: Guarantee 100% statutory technical compliance across all mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) infrastructure in strict accordance with current HSE legislation, CIBSE guidance, and industry-recognised standards.
• Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) & AP/CP Regimes: Oversee and audit the contract's Safe Systems of Work, managing or acting within Authorised Person (AP) / Competent Person (CP) appointments across critical site disciplines (including High & Low Voltage Electrical Safety, Complex HVAC & Ventilation, Water Hygiene / Legionella control, and Pressure Systems).
• Audit & Inspection Readiness: Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready physical and digital logbooks to ensure the estate consistently surpasses internal, client, and external statutory governance audits

2. Operational Maintenance Delivery & Plant Resilience

• Service Delivery Governance: Direct the execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes and rapid-response reactive work orders via the CAFM system, ensuring strict adherence to contractual KPIs and high-priority SLAs.
• Critical Plant Uptime: Oversee the continuous reliability and maintenance regimes of business-critical central plant, including boiler houses, dual-fuel standby generators, UPS topologies, complex air handling units (AHUs), pumping stations, and central chiller networks.

3. Client Partnership & Stakeholder Diplomacy

• Trusted Technical Ambassador: Act as a daily, visible technical partner to Client Estates Directors, Facilities Leads, and operational department heads.
• Performance Reporting: Lead scheduled technical and operational review meetings, presenting clear, data-driven updates on asset performance, statutory compliance metrics, and forward lifecycle risks.

4. People Leadership & Subcontractor Governance

• Workforce Mentorship: Lead, coach, and motivate a multi-disciplinary resident workforce comprising Shift Engineers, Maintenance Craftspeople, and technical administrative staff.
• Supply Chain Governance: Procure, induct, and performance-audit specialist third-party maintenance contractors, ensuring all works conform strictly to site access protocols, RAMS, and Permit to Work (PTW) controls.

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Background:

• Critical Infrastructure Track Record: Proven operational supervisory experience within a high-spec corporate campus, critical engineering facility, higher education estate, or complex multi-building environment.
• Statutory Depth: Comprehensive working knowledge of statutory building regulations, British Standards, Safe Systems of Work, and SFG20 maintenance regimes.
• Team Leadership: Demonstrable success in directing, mentoring, and developing resident engineering teams while embedding an uncompromising safety culture.

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Technical Foundation: Formal engineering apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (HNC, HND, or BEng degree preferred).
• Technical Accreditations: Current or prior appointment as an Authorised Person (AP) in a critical discipline (e.g., LV/HV Electrical, Ventilation, Water, or Pressure Systems) is highly advantageous.
