We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive team at a primary school in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting the early development and learning of a specific child with additional needs, helping them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with an individual pupil in an EYFS setting, tailoring support to their specific physical, emotional, and learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher and SENCo in implementing personalized learning plans (e.g., EHCPs/IEPs).
- Adapt early years activities and resources to make learning accessible, engaging, and age-appropriate.
- Support the child's communication, physical development, regulation, and social interactions with peers.
- Help create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment where the child feels secure and valued.
- Monitor, observe, and log the child's daily progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
- Assist with personal care and mobility support if required, maintaining the child's dignity and independence.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications: A relevant Level 2 or 3 Early Years / Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- SEN Experience: Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (e.g., Autism, speech & language delays, sensory processing needs) is highly desirable.
- EYFS Knowledge: A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
- Key Attributes: A patient, calm, resilient, and proactive approach with a genuine passion for SEN support.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong, trusted relationships with the child, school staff, parents, and external specialists.
