We are seeking an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team across mainstream schools in Liverpool this September. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with Nursery and Reception students who have diverse needs-including Autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and complex learning requirements-ensuring every child feels safe, included, and empowered to grow from their very first steps in education.

You will play a pivotal role in both early years classroom management and individual pupil development:
Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support, tailoring your approach to meet the specific early learning and sensory needs of the child/children.
Learning Facilitation: Assist the lead teacher in implementing EYFS lesson plans and play-based educational activities, utilising specialised strategies to enhance the learning experience.
Inclusion & Wellbeing: Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes self-esteem, independence, and vital social interaction among early years pupils.
Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour using established early years techniques and school policies, dealing promptly with emotional regulation needs while encouraging pupil responsibility.
Progress Tracking: Collaborate with the SENDco and teaching staff to monitor, record, and report on pupil achievement, milestones, and progress within the EYFS framework.
Care & Safety: Ensure the safety of all pupils, providing crucial assistance with personal care, hygiene, or mobility where required in an early years setting.
Requirements & Experience
We are looking for a patient and caring individual who possesses:
Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience working in UK schools, nurseries, or a caregiving capacity (Special Education/Autism or Early Years experience highly preferred).
Compliance: An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and eligibility to work in the UK.
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively interact with young pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
Attitude: A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs in their early development and a commitment to long-term, full-time work.
References: Professional references from recent employers.
