A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Family Court Adviser to join the team in Chelmsford. This post is designed for an experienced child care practitioner who excels in risk assessment, court advocacy, and ensuring that children's welfare remains the paramount consideration in legal decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Child-Centred Assessments: Undertake rigorous assessments and prepare comprehensive, evidence-based reports (such as Section 7 reports) for both Public and Private Law applications.
- Direct Work & Voice of the Child: Engage directly with children and young people using age-appropriate tools to capture their true wishes and feelings.
- Expert Judicial Support: Attend family court hearings to present recommendations clearly and confidently to judges and magistrates.
- Risk Evaluation: Assess complex family situations, identify safeguarding concerns, and advise the court on measures to promote the child's safety and well-being.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Body: Fully qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration.
- Experience Level: Substantive post-qualifying experience in statutory child protection, court work, Looked After Children (LAC), or CAFCASS environments.
- Court Literacy: Demonstrable competency in authoring high-calibre court reports and navigating family court procedures.
