Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Court Assessments & Reports: Carry out detailed, analytical assessments and prepare high-standard reports for both Public and Private Law care proceedings.
- Elevating the Voice of the Child: Meet directly with children and young people using creative, age-appropriate methods to capture their authentic views and feelings.
- Judicial Advisory: Attend court hearings to provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to magistrates and judges, acting as an independent voice for the child.
- Safeguarding & Risk Management: Evaluate complex family dynamics, identify potential safeguarding issues, and propose robust, child-centred outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Professional Status: Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Statutory Experience: Proven post-qualifying track record in frontline children's care (e.g., Child Protection, Court/LAC teams, or CAFCASS).
- Courtroom Competency: Strong command of legal frameworks in family law and significant experience producing statutory court reports.
