About the Role
Leicestershire County Council is seeking a high-caliber, Level 3 Social Worker to join their fast-paced First Response (Front Door) Assessment Team. This critical role is the initial point of entry for children's services, ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive timely, high-quality assessments and interventions.
This position offers a competitive hourly rate and a stable, 37-hour full-time work week under a flexible hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
Front Door Assessments: Undertake initial, comprehensive child and family assessments to determine risk and immediate safeguarding needs.
Child Protection (CP): Act swiftly on safeguarding referrals, identifying risk factors and implementing immediate protection plans where necessary.
Court Proceedings: Initiate urgent care proceedings, prepare robust court reports and statements, and represent the Local Authority confidently during court hearings.
Multidisciplinary Liaison: Collaborate closely with schools, health professionals, police, and early help services to coordinate seamless support.
Candidate Criteria
To hit the ground running in this fast-paced environment, candidates must demonstrate the following specific experience:
Front Door Expertise: Proven background working specifically within a Local Authority First Response or Front Door Assessment Team.
Core Practice Experience: Substantial, hands-on experience managing complex Child Protection (CP) cases and navigating Court work from start to finish.
Senior Capability: Ideally operating at a Level 3 Social Worker proficiency (advanced practice skills, minimal supervision required).
Compliance: Active Social Work England registration and a clean, enhanced DBS.
Availability: Able to transition and start the position ideally within a 4-week notice period.
