We are supporting a small but well-established Independent Fostering Agency in the North East to recruit a dedicated and experienced social work professional. Their service forms a vital part of the charity's wider mission to provide high-quality care across the region. This is a pivotal leadership role designed for an individual who is passionate about maintaining high standards of care while driving the growth and development of a committed team of staff and foster carers.
The Role Summary
The Registered Manager acts as the cornerstone of the fostering service, ensuring that the agency operates with integrity, compassion, and full regulatory compliance. This position involves:
Providing strategic leadership and operational management to a small, specialist team.
Ensuring the delivery of high-quality foster placements that prioritise the safety and well-being of children.
Upholding the IFA values, an accredited Living Wage Foundation employer.
Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintaining rigorous adherence to Fostering Services Regulations and National Minimum Standards, acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies.
Leading the growth of the agency by identifying new opportunities and improving existing service delivery models.
Providing expert supervision, guidance, and mentorship to social workers and administrative staff.
Overseeing the recruitment, assessment, and training of foster carers to ensure a robust and diverse carer pool.
Acting as a lead professional in safeguarding matters, ensuring all child protection procedures are strictly followed.
Overseeing the service's financial health and ensuring resources are utilised effectively to benefit the children in care.
Candidate Requirements
The successful applicant will be a Qualified Social Worker with current professional registration and a proven track record in a senior leadership capacity within fostering services. A deep understanding of the legislative framework is essential. While an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management is desirable, the charity prioritises candidates with a values-based approach and a genuine desire to help individuals reach their personal potential so will consider candidates committed to achieving this while in post.
