Are you a passionate Geography specialist looking for a teaching role that offers genuine flexibility, competitive pay, and a strong work-life balance? Whether you are drawn to the full autonomy and variety of day-to-day supply cover or searching for the stability and connection of a long-term departmental placement, we have fantastic opportunities tailored directly to your schedule.
We are currently partnering with a welcoming network of secondary schools, academies, and high schools in King's Lynn and across the surrounding West Norfolk area. We are experiencing high demand for enthusiastic, reliable Geography Teachers who can deliver engaging physical and human geography lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with Key Stage 5 opportunities available for candidates looking for A-Level teaching).
Whether you are an experienced Geography Teacher seeking a better work-life balance, or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) eager to gain valuable experience across different school cultures, we can help you find your ideal role.
Choose Your Ideal Way of Working:
- Day-to-Day Cover: Enjoy total control over your diary. Simply select the specific days you wish to work to suit your lifestyle, family commitments, or personal projects. It is a brilliant way to teach your subject across different local secondary schools.
- Long-Term Opportunities: If you prefer consistency, we offer fixed-term placements spanning a term or a full academic year (covering maternity, sickness, or vacant posts). This allows you to integrate fully into a Humanities department, lead your own classes, guide fieldwork initiatives, and prepare students for their GCSEs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver stimulating, well-structured Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering physical, human, and environmental geography alongside core map and fieldwork skills.
- Inspire global awareness, critical thinking, and environmental stewardship, helping students connect geographic concepts to real-world issues.
- Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where high standards of behaviour and learning are upheld.
- Apply effective classroom management strategies in line with individual school policies.
- For long-term roles: take ownership of lesson planning, ongoing assessment, preparing students for GCSE exams, and contributing to departmental meetings.
What We Look For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent secondary teaching qualification specialising in Geography or Humanities.
- Strong subject knowledge across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Geography.
- Confident classroom management skills and the ability to inspire curiosity about the world in young minds.
- An adaptable, proactive mindset, ready to hit the ground running in different secondary environments.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
Benefits of Working With Us:
- Competitive rates of pay, processed weekly and reflective of your experience and specialist subject expertise.
- A dedicated local consultant with deep knowledge of the secondary education sector in King's Lynn and West Norfolk.
- A transparent service that works strictly around your declared availability.
- Excellent networking opportunities across local secondary schools, which frequently lead to direct, permanent contracts.
