Ignite Passion. Lead Innovation. Transform Lives.
Are you a visionary practitioner with the ability to turn a stage into a classroom and a classroom into a stage? We are seeking an exceptional Head of Performing Arts to lead our vibrant department and inspire the next generation of performers, creators, and thinkers.
At our Academy, we don't just teach subjects; we develop aspirational young people who thrive in a changing world. We are looking for a leader who embodies our core values of Knowledge, Integrity, and Resilience, and who possesses the creative spark to drive our performing arts provision to new heights.
The Role
As the Head of Performing Arts, you will be the driving force behind our creative curriculum and extra-curricular showcase. You will lead a dedicated team to deliver high-quality teaching, manage transformative change, and ensure that every student-regardless of their starting point-discovers the magic of performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Visionary Leadership: Directing high-caliber performances and managing the department with a focus on raising achievement and "value-added" results.
Excellence in Teaching: Delivering "Good" or "Outstanding" GCSE lessons and mentoring staff to do the same.
Strategic Management: Using data and educational insight to raise standards and prioritize student outcomes.
Community & Production: Liaising with external stakeholders and using specialist technology to produce professional-grade school productions.
About You
You are an experienced educator with a proven track record of success. You understand that performing arts is a vital vehicle for inclusion and diversity, and you have the "presence" to command a room and inspire a faculty.
Essential Requirements:
Qualifications: Degree level education (or equivalent) with QTS.
Experience: Successful track record of teaching GCSE and evidence of raising student achievement. (Please note: This role is not suitable for ECTs).
Expertise: Deep knowledge of the National Curriculum, current educational thinking, and technical performance resources.
Leadership: Experience in managing change and the ability to motivate others to meet high expectations.
Communication: Exceptional IT literacy and the ability to build mutually supportive relationships with colleagues, parents, and students.
Why Join Us?
We offer a collaborative environment where "team players" thrive. You will have the autonomy to initiate change and the support to grow professionally. If you are resilient under pressure, flexible in your approach, and have an unwavering commitment to safeguarding and equal opportunities, we want to hear from you.
