Take Strategic Ownership of a Specialised Science Curriculum
Are you an experienced Science teacher looking for a role where you can break free from rigid mainstream constraints and exercise true pedagogical autonomy?
We specialise in providing creative, relationship-driven education solutions for children and young people aged 7 to 19 who are "lost to learning" or "hard to place." We are seeking an accomplished, forward-thinking educator to step into the role of Science Lead-a position designed for an expert practitioner who wants to combine classroom excellence with high-impact strategic leadership.
The Opportunity: Strategic Leadership with a Hybrid Balance
This role offers a distinct hybrid structure, providing dedicated weekly release time to focus entirely on senior leadership responsibilities, quality assurance, and staff development, alongside targeted teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Innovation: Design, develop, and oversee a bespoke, adaptable Science curriculum tailored to learners requiring highly personalised pathways (including 1:1, small groups, and vocational settings).
Instructional Coaching: Act as the organisation's Science specialist, guiding and upskilling teaching colleagues through structured CPD, mentoring, and peer coaching.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate directly with school leadership to conduct QA activities, identify systemic strengths, and implement data-driven interventions to elevate learner outcomes.
Cross-Organisational Networking: Partner with regional Learning Managers and receive bespoke support from our Heads of Quality of Education, collaborating with a wide network of Curriculum Leads.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
This position requires a practitioner with a proven track record of driving academic engagement and managing diverse educational needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant, demonstrable experience delivering high-quality Science education.
SEN Expertise: Strong background in SEN or Alternative Provision is highly preferred, with a deep understanding of re-engaging reluctant or complex learners.
Leadership Capability: Practical experience in curriculum design, staff development, or department management is highly desirable.
Mobility: A valid driving license, access to a vehicle, and business insurance are essential, as the role requires travel between regional hubs to support local teams.
Why Move into this Role?
For an experienced teacher, this is an opportunity to move away from the "exam factory" mentality and return to the core of what makes teaching rewarding: profound, measurable student transformation. You will enjoy a high degree of professional trust, a deeply supportive leadership network, and the scope to shape an entire department's vision.
