In this role, you will be ultimately accountable for all areas of operational and educational performance, ensuring our students' needs are met to the highest standards through strong leadership and collaborative stakeholder management.
The OpportunityAs the Headteacher, you will develop a cohesive strategy to maintain our status as an outstanding school. You will lead a dynamic, interdisciplinary team-bringing together education, care, and therapy-to create an environment where students grow in their own unique way.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Leadership: Maintain the SEF and SDP as live documents to drive school improvement and report progress to governance.
Quality & Compliance: Exceed all regulatory standards, overseeing rigorous quality assurance audits and safeguarding measures.
Curriculum Excellence: Implement a holistic curriculum that promotes British Values, life skills, and successful transitions into further education or employment.
People Management: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing staff team through positive engagement and continuous professional development.
Resource Oversight: Work with central services to manage the site, buildings, and budget effectively, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
About You
We are looking for a proactive leader with an empathetic approach and a proven track record in specialist education.
Requirements:
Experience as a member of a Senior Management Team (Head, Deputy, or Assistant Head) within a specialist school setting.
Experience teaching and raising achievement for pupils with SEN, specifically regarding SLD and ASD issues.
Proven ability in School Development Planning, self-evaluation, and engaging with Ofsted inspections.
Hold or be willing to study towards an NPQH.
Adaptability to participate in physical intervention and personal care routines if required.
Depending on student numbers, a willingness to lead by example through classroom teaching.
