Location: Peterborough
Salary: £24,800 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
Are you passionate about breaking down barriers to learning? We are looking for an inspiring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team in Peterborough. In this role, you won't just be assisting in a classroom; you will be a vital catalyst for change in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of talented teachers and therapists, you will help design and deliver bespoke learning experiences that cater to the unique strengths of every child. If you are looking for a role where every day is different, occasionally challenging, but deeply rewarding, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Tailored Support: Lead 1:1 sessions and small group interventions to help students hit their academic and personal milestones.
Curriculum Delivery: Assist with lesson planning and take the lead in delivering engaging activities aligned with the national curriculum.
Adaptive Learning: Pivot and adapt teaching methods on the fly to meet the diverse individual needs and abilities of our learners.
Progress Tracking: Help record, analyze, and-most importantly-celebrate the "lightbulb moments" and progress of our students.
Holistic Growth: Foster independence, emotional resilience, and communication skills within a safe, nurturing environment.
Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with families and specialists to ensure a wrap-around approach to every student's education.
What We're Looking For
Qualified & Experienced: An HLTA or TA qualification is preferred, though we value strong, hands-on experience in a SEND setting just as highly.
SEND Savvy: A solid understanding of Special Educational Needs and a passion for inclusive education.
Relationship Builders: The ability to connect with children and young people, building the trust necessary for them to flourish.
Resilient Mindset: A calm, patient, and resilient attitude even in high-pressure situations.
Desirable Extras: Experience with autism and complex needs, or knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic educational approaches.
